The supporting framework is one of the most important parts of a modular fiber optic star ceiling installation.

FANXSTAR star ceiling panels have magnets installed on the rear, allowing them to be attached to compatible metal mounting surfaces. This means the system can be installed using either a metal keel structure or a properly prepared wooden keel structure.

Start with the Panel Layout

Standard FANXSTAR panels are available in60 × 60cm and 60 × 120cm. The support frame should be planned around these modular dimensions.

Where installation conditions allow, approximately50mm or more of clearance above the finished panel surface is recommended to provide space for wiring, panel connections and related components.

Installing Star Ceiling Panels on a Metal Frame

A steel or iron keel frame provides a direct surface for the rear panel magnets. Once the frame has been aligned and secured, the panels can be lifted into position and magnetically attached.

Installing Star Ceiling Panels on a Wooden Frame

Wood itself does not provide a magnetic mounting surface. Therefore, a wooden keel installation requires steel strips or suitable metal plates at the panel's magnetic fixing positions.

Once these metal mounting points are securely fixed to the wooden structure, the star ceiling panel can use the same rear magnetic mounting principle.
